  • This is a weird case because the p320 did pass the required drop test.

You drop it X amount of times, from Y height, at A, B, and C angles.

The p320 won’t go off, and passes the test

But drop it from a couple inches higher, at a specific (but not tested) angle… And it might go off.

The problem, like usual, is cops.

Cops always have a shit ton of negligent discharges. So when people said a p320 can just “go off” every negligent discharge with a p320 was blamed on the gun. Even when the incident was on camera and didn’t involve a drop.

Cops just lie about shit instinctively.

  • We know zero about the shooter(s) besides they claimed to be volunteer peacekeepers, but the volunteer peacekeepers were forbidden from carrying guns…

I don’t know why people keep acting like they had any type of authority.

They saw a gun carrying a gun breaking zero laws and started blasting.

Good intentions or not, they deserve to be charged and have their firearms taken away.

But this is a larger problem as the article gets into. These “peacekeepers” aren’t there to protect from the police, they’re there to police protesters and hand anyone further left than they are to the police.

A growing presence at demonstrations in recent years, many protesters hold disdain for protest marshals, pejoratively called “peace police.” To many, the use of marshals hampers spontaneous and autonomous tactics, and puts those who are willing to take more risky actions during protests in danger. In some instances, these “peace police” have gone so far as to isolate and turn in to police protesters who take on more confrontational roles, leading to arrests and police violence.

They’re working against the cause not for it, even if they dont understand what’s happening

Neoliberals with guns, they do t care about any rules restricting themselves, but will literally murder a bystander if someone else is doing the exact same thing.

Like, when it comes down to it the only people who fucked up were the “peacekeepers”. And now someone is dead.

  • HIRED BY THE PROTEST ORGANIZERS

What’s with people saying “hired” now?

It was an unpaid volunteer, and as far as I know we have zero information on how much vetting was involved.

Like, where is this shit coming from?

Did you read it somewhere in a comment and are just repeating like it’s true?

Do you not understand why there’s so much criticism of these “peacekeepers”?

Did you ever read an article instead of just comments?

  • I mean…

Honestly the whole “assassinating a leader is against the rules” has always felt ass backwards when the alternative is a shit ton of people with essentially no say in the conflict dying.

Let me take it back to Hammarubi.

All these shitty world leaders can just take turns killing themselves like the bloody Sneeches, until we eventually end up with leaders who think peace is worth a shot.

To me, that sounds like a self correcting and sustainable system. If a country’s government starts a war, the most likely result would be that political leader getting merc’d by the government of the country they attacked.

  • This isnt a special snowflakes issue

What I meant is the modern accepted view is that Homo Sapiens are, well, what the name implies. The smartest hominds.

We started out saying we knew that was true because of jewelry, burial rituals, and cave paintings. All of which were found in Europe and thought unique to us, specifically Europeans because everyone was hella racist back then.

Then we found out Neanderthals did all that, then we found out Denisovans did it…

Semi-recently we found out the last common ancestor we all shared also did those things that we claimed made Homo Sapiens “the smart ones”.

That’s what I mean later about moving the goalpost so we can still say we’re better.

We’re not smarter than the other hominds were.

We were just the one with an innate drive to kill other hominds that didn’t look exactly like what we grew up around. The vestiges of that is why “in group/out group” still develops in modern humans and why racism is a thing.

That, and we reproduced faster than others, which enabled the crazy levels of aggression. So even when the occasional hybrid tribe showed up, our genes would mostly drown out the genes of other hominids. Wed absorb a few good traits into the population, but still be mostly human in a short amount of time on the evolutionary timeline.

It’s not a pretty story, but all available evidence points to that being the reason why we’re the last standing homind. It’s just hard to admit.
