This sounds a lot like, “build your own servers and topple another US industry.”
A declaration of war comes with an additional wartime budget that will add to the national debt.
That’ll take the spines of 6 Republicans in the House and 20 Republicans in the Senate. Actually, 21 Republican Senators. Fetterman will probably vote against removal.
He needs them to declare war to give him the fat budget and more executive power. I’m sure the Republican-controlled majority won’t have a problem with it. They’ve been foaming at the mouth for a hot war with Iran since the 80s.
Posting Fox fearmongering? Really? Lol
Iran has no ICBMs, and getting too tan on vacation will now get you stopped at US customs. The people of Iran will be the ones bearing the brunt of this power grab by Trump.
Trump wants the expanded powers of POTUS that comes with being a wartime president, as well as a wartime budget, but he needs Congress to declare war…so what does he do?
He pulls out of an agreement that restricted Iran from enriching uranium, then threatens to attack them for enriching uranium. Unexpectedly, Iran takes the high road and goes to the UN over the threats. Since Iran won’t attack, Trump gets Israel to attack Iran. Now, Trump is allowed to attack Iran under the false pretense of protecting an ally, which circumvents congressional approval. He posts a message claiming peace, knowing full well that Iran will retaliate, and Congress will subsequently declare war.
Trump gets everything he wants- expanded powers, and a big budget to hide his reckless overspending, while calling it the defense of an allied nation.
Israel is also pumping streaming services from YouTube to Plex full of propaganda commercials. https://cordcuttersnews.com/israel-launches-ad-campaign-on-streaming-services-to-address-conflict-with-iran/
Damn. I saw someone had posed this on Substack in response to the Canadian LGBTQ+ hotline misinformation, so I was excited to share it for people who may need it. Thanks for the correction.
You’re a spectacular dick, aren’t you?
I’m fully aware of your personal disclosure. That’s why I wrote “people” and not “you.” I was answering your question. Are you always condescending when you don’t understand the context of a reply?
not that I’m encouraging it but I’m kind of surprised that there hasn’t been more violent attacks on ice officers
My comment is condemning the violence mentioned above, regardless of motive.
Violent response vilifies the citizen against the officer ‘doing their job.’ That is leveraged to strengthen laws that protect officers, used as more propaganda to grow support for the right, and costs us another resister to incarceration.
People need to stop suggesting response with emotion and read history. Small scale resistance against fascism has never been successful.
That’s intentional. They sensationalize to desensitize. Unlike the introduction of computers or the internet, AI will absolutely take far more jobs than it will create. Goldman Sachs predicts a 50% reduction in US jobs by 2045, and Republicans added a provision into the budget reconciliation that prohibits any regulation on AI for a decade, to ensure that prosperity goes to the corporations.
Small-scale violence excites and emboldens fascism. It will not stop it.
