Spent 30 years campaigning, calling, sign waving, writing letters, donating to candidates, causes, and groups. Even ran for office a couple of times. Every year it gets worse and I’ve got kids. They don’t need to live in a dystopian place so we’re on the road. Headed to a developed nation. Greener pastures,.but it’s worth a try.

The reason the mayor is pushing this through over the Councils is that Councils don’t want to upset car owners while the mayor needs some actual change to happen so the city can recover from all the damage done by car drivers.
I loved the classic complaints. “What about grannies, parents, and people with heavy shopping!?!?”. I dunno, maybe we use some of the solutions other places have affected in the last decades for them? There’s other forms of mobility other than driving your car and walking. Do what England does best: go overseas and steal stuff to use at home. You’ll be fine. People survived before cars and can do so again.
PLEASE put a stop to insane car sizes. I’m from the US and our cars, SUVs, and trucks have gotten so huge it would be humorous if not for the thousands of extra children it’s killing each year.

Nice. Germany has some good visa programs for skilled workers. If you’ve got the credentials, the consulates will work with you on immigration and it’s not a very onerous system.
