I still don’t see that happening. Trump likes his popularity too much.
Like, he’ll nuke Iran before he ever puts boots on the ground.

Well, I’m mildly surprised.
The suddenness kind of reminds me of when he bombed Assad.
I mean, would it? Or would they just continue with a massive vulnerability that eventually blows up somehow.
IIRC they still tried to put the cat back in the bag.
I mean, yes and no. There’s stupid criminals and smarter ones. The general conclusion holds if backdoors stop teenagers from selling weed, but are then used by Russian hackers to conduct high-profile blackmail, though.
And then you get the near-certainty of some government using privileged access to do evil, as well.
Yeah, but then they put out a statement saying the planes were “decommissioned” by their actions. These seem like the kind of activists that are so gutsy there’s no room left for a brain.
I mean, I suppose if there was enough paint glommed on it could throw the balance of the rotors out of spec, but the airforce has confirmed there will be no actual disruption as a result.
I’m pretty sure that will be a minor inconvenience at the worst, right? Turbine engines are built to handle ingestion of most minor things, and paint will just burn off. If they actually wanted to keep them down, they should have used wet concrete or something like that.
You’re from .ml, so we might not be working from the same facts, but I’d put Putin ahead of Trump at the moment for sure. Trump has more long term evil potential basically just because he’s in a very vulnerable but powerful country.
Gaza vs. Ukraine is the obvious comparison for Netanyahu, and it probably depends on how you measure it. I’d expect there’s more actual deaths in Ukraine, but it’s a more populous country, they’re more likely to be military casualties and the non-lethal misery dealt is much lower. It’s even harder to factor in Russian operations in Africa and the rest of the world, although they’re a significant source of brutality as well.
Iran or Iran’s splinter states. They have several bombs worth of uranium that’s almost ready.
I doubt the US would get involved, and nobody else is going to for sure.
All remotely from within their own country, right?
Yeah, it seems fairly impossible he’ll get fully into the war, and even lending a few bunker busters would be surprising when that’s risking a blowback on American forces.
I would guess that Trump is expecting Khamenei to cave, because that’s what he’d do. Most likely, he won’t, Trump will be confused, and this will drag on and on until a regional nuclear exchange is on the table.
I mean, Putin is a pretty big sponsor of mayhem, corruption and autocracy in nations of all average skin tone.
Yes, but that headline would get less clicks.
The museum is mad that they left after that, but honestly I’d be pretty terrified going up to them and mentioning that I’d fallen into a priceless artifact and broken it. In theory, they didn’t put up glass, and as professionals knew that means there’s a risk accidents could happen. In practice, maybe they’re short on funds and whatever bureaucrat sees suing me as a way out.
So is it snake oil, or dangerously effective (to the point it enables evil)?
I had to look it up, but it sounds like he was a new age/counterculture personality. I don’t really see the connection.
Depends what you mean by “traditional worldview”. I’ll go ahead and say young earth creationism shows a lack of openness to objective reality when it’s not personally convenient.
In the context I mean, what gets justified with tradition is behavior like putting on a fake persona when dating, pushing boundaries, disregarding the rights of strangers around them and generally being an entitled, eventually controlling dickwad. They’ll say that’s what men have always done, and boys will be boys or whatever, but I’m certain nobody had to “twist their arm”.
When I see one of those dudes dragging a girl around, I have to wonder if she’s chasing a kink. That’s not how you go about it, if so. 50 Shades of Grey was fiction.
Just based on what I see women doing around me all the time, there were probably some warning signs. Looking for a dude that’s “traditional” or whatever is asking for a dude that’s going to see you like a form of livestock. It’s partly a politics thing, but largely an assholes thing.
41% of young men support Tate versus just 12% of young women.
WTF those are both shockingly high.
Visual Capitalist makes tons of great infographics, actually. I’m not sure how nobody in this thread has heard of them.
It’s because they’re more self-censoring in real life.
I’m sure Ned Flanders swearing seems implausible in Australia.
